Fluorosint 500s unique properties are the result of a proprietary process in which synthetically manufactured mica is chemically linked to PTFE. This bonding results in properties not normally attainable in reinforced PTFE. It has a continuous use temperature to 500 F. When compared to PTFE it has a higher load carrying capability, and lower coefficient of thermal expansion. Fluorosint 500 is a structural/seal grade filled with enough mica to produce a thermal expansion 15percent less than unfilled PTFE.

Polysulfone PSO (UDEL Brand) is considered to be in the class of Superpolymers since it maintains its physical properties at temperatures above 400 F. Polysulfone is a clear amber amorphous thermoplastic that is stable, heat resistant and self extinguishing. It has a UL-rated continuous temperature of 320 F. It is very rigid with a flex modulus of 400,000 psi with a tensile strength of over 10,000 psi at yield. It has a high dielectric strength and low dissipation factor. PSO is highly resistant to mineral acid, alkali, and salt solutions. PSO is attacked by polar organic solvents and chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons.
